News from Iraq- Report #2
In one of my earlier posts, I forwarded some news from the front lines of Iraq via my friend, Coby, who is serving and working in some bad areas. Here is what Coby reports as of this morning when I asked about the current situation on the ground as it relates to our military personnel's perspective:
"The major gripe here now is just the media and the focus on entertainers in general. These people basically live a lie and make their money due to the freedoms they enjoy but yet forget who gives them that protection. Just basically cant listen to any news stories any more because of the politics. I cringe at the idea that we have a year ahead of us before the big elections and no telling how more divided the country will become and how many more have to die to get the support we all need. The only troop surge I see is at the chow hall and the PX lines because the Army has basically been so restricted in what they can do by limp politicians that were just running into each other like a kid's soccer game. But were all gonna stay as long as we can and I wont be the first one on that plane to leave, well save that for the wimpy democrats who want to glorify the failure, but yet what we all wanted by noon- September 11, 2001. Their next perfect day is coming and were too busy worrying about Brittney Spears and who has signed the newest knucklehead rap star to their label and/or basketball team.............until then my friend, we'll be here ready to jump."
Coby occasionally reads this blog. So you may want to convey your support of his activities in the comments section. I'm sure he and the rest of the team would be glad to hear that we have a few here at home who haven't forgotten about their service, sacrifice, and sense of duty.
Come home safe, my friend!!

For Coby: I can only imagine how you feel about Brittany Spears and her latest traffic citation. What is important to us? Who are we? And can anybody take us seriously? Unfortunately the media and lame government are helping to cripple each other (and turn us into idiots) by backing off the blood and guts…figuratively, that is. They can’t risk the big money that comes from the big backers, and every big backer has a PC protocol. Garbage. So, for now we’re fed stick people’s problems and they call it news. The only good thing about it is that I get to deliver the truth to my son, the whole truth. Truth is, if you’re not willing to offend someone you don’t stand a chance. Truth is, if you don’t know why I’m a single mom you may turn into a deadbeat loser too. Truth is, someday you’ll wish you could get back the time you spent watching Entertainment Tonight so turn it off. Truth is, there are bad things happening in this world and we have to try to understand why. Then, we have to do something about it. The more you know, the better you’ll be. If its any consolation I know there are many good people who hit their knees and pray for your safety every night. And there is at least one home in Ohio where an impressionable 11-yr old boy folds his hands at the dinner table and finishes grace by thanking god for his blessings and for the soldiers that protect him. Know too, that although its hard to keep him away from the latest hip-hop junk, he read the bible on Christmas morning and played with the dog as much as the new video game. Those are things I try not to take for granted. Thanks for being there and for being ready. Two of us will sleep better tonight, because of you. ~Wendy in Ohio
For Troy: Thanks, you’re refreshing.
